Really like this oriental restaurant. Very reasonably priced. Don't be put off by the window display, it's great inside. The sunken seating is fun and interesting! Good food. Can recommend.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet although it's a regular haunt of mine. Recommended to me initially through my neighbour I was slightly put off by the tacky window display.
Much to my surprise the food was excellent. The Catford and Hawaiian rolls are my fave! Sushi is always freshly made to order.
The sunken seats a great added extra , although a tad difficult to get out of if you've gorged yourself with all the beautiful food. -

This place is a handy lunch spot from work when crazing Katsu curry. I didn't actually know of it's existence until recently, I must have walked past here a hundred times and didn't notice it. After mentioning another nearby restaurant to my friend, she put me onto this. First impressions, I loved the sunken seating and was very excited at the novelty of it. The front of the restaurant is a bit strange, with what looks like the owners home office on the table in the window, but once you are at the back, it's all fun. The service was friendly and the food came out fast, which is was you need on your lunch break. We ordered vegetable spring rolls to share and I had chicken Katsu and and friend had the vegetable Katsu. The sauce was not like the Katsu sauce that I'm used to, it was much thicker and more gravy like. It didn't seem like it was freshly made, but more from a pre prepared batch. I got plenty of chicken, which was good. I did feel for my friend as the vegetable option was literally the curry without the chicken, so definitely was lacking something extra. Although nothing outstanding, I will probably return from time to time for something different in the area for a lunchtime. It is slightly pricier that other lunch options in Catford, but by no means is it expensive. I might try something different next time and try the sushi which looked quite nice.

Went here a while ago. Doesn't *look* that great inside and wasn't overly impressed with the sushi or the service, alas. Still, friends rave about this place so will give it another go at some point I'm sure...

Lesson learned - 4 star sushi in Catford is not 4 star sushi. I don't know why I was expecting something good in Catford of all places, but the preceding reviews were very positive. I guess if you live in Catford anything resembling sushi is great compared to the standard fried chicken fakes and fish and chips on every street.
But sorry Catford - this is bad sushi. And bad ramen too. And the whole place needs a bit of a clean. A bit of dirt on the floors, dust around the room and grubby waitress uniforms can be tolerated at a lot of places, but not somewhere serving raw food.
